A lot of couples who wish to settle down and tie the knot are often caught in the excitement only to find themselves overwhelmed with the sheer number of tasks that need to be completed later on.

The key to having a successful luxury wedding is to set aside ample time for planning and ticking tasks off a to-do list. Here’s a breakdown of these tasks that couples should complete leading up to the wedding date, compiled in one handy wedding checklist.

A year before the wedding

This is the perfect time to do your research. If you do not have any idea of what theme to use, make use of this time to browse through blogs and magazines to draw inspiration.

At this point, you should also determine how much you are willing to spend for the wedding. Take a good look at your savings and see whether this will be enough for the wedding that you want.

After this, you need to determine who will be included in both your entourage as well as your guest list.

If you wish to make things run a little smoother, consider hiring a wedding planner. Hiring a wedding planner at this stage will help give you a clear direction.

This is also the perfect time to select and book the wedding venue and officiant. Most couples also begin researching the vendors they will get for the wedding.
